Specializing in the local limestone has allowed us to be involved in every aspect of masonry, new and old. We have laid tile and natural stone floors and then gone on to erect a chimney. We re-tuck point mortar in an old house or barn foundation and build new fireplaces. The
major distinctions seem to be whether we are using mortar (cladding a
house in stone) or dry-stone construction, as in building retaining
walls or patios. Still, a large part of our work involves restorations
or repairs. Being versatile and sensible enough to adapt our methods
according to the age of the structure has built our reputation in the
area. |
